We will begin our visit in the mystical Andean city of Cusco, once the heart of the Inca empire, where Inca stone walls and temples today line the narrow cobblestone streets of the city. In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will visit the traditional market of Pisac and explore the historic town of Ollantaytambo. The highlight of our trip will be a full-day visit to Machu Picchu, one of the worlds most beautiful and important archeological sites.

We will begin our visit in the mystical Andean city of Cusco, once the heart of the Inca empire, where Inca stone walls and temples today line the narrow cobblestone streets of the city.  In the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will  visit the traditional market of Pisac and explore the historic town of Ollantaytambo. The highlight of our trip  will be a full-day visit to Machu Picchu, one of the world’s most beautiful and important archeological sites.

Arrive in Lima. Airport assistance and overnight at the  Costa del Sol Ramada Airport Hotel, just a short 2 minute walk outside customs.

We will take a morning flight to Cuzco which is 3,310 meters or 10,857 ft above sea level . Upon Arrival we will be transfered  to  our hotel. Rest of the morning  free to relax and slowly adjust to the altitude. In the afternoon we will tour the Inca palaces, colonial temples, and fascinating streets of the former capital of the Inca Empire. We will also  visit Sacsayhuaman, the enormous Inca fortified ceremonial center overlooking the city.

 Day 3 SACRED VALLEYchakana1 300x300

We will pick you up early in the morning and drive down into the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

There we will visit  the colorful Indian market in Pisac to see  an amazing  blend of people, tradition and color. After lunch, we will continue on to Ollantaytambo, the oldest continuously occupied settlement in the Americas. Ollantaytambo's narrow streets with canals, all unchanged since Inca times, manifest its ancient heritage. We will visit the Inca ruins situated on a hill-top landscape with surrounding agricultural terraces and with ciclopean rock carvings. From the hill-top there is an extraordinary view of the village below and the surrounding countryside. We will start our return to Cusco visiting Chinchero, a small Andean Indian village located high up on. Beautiful views overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas with the Cordillera Vilcabamba and snow capped peak of Salkantay dominating the western horizon. The most striking remnant of the Inca period is the massive stone wall in the main plaza which has ten trapezoid niches.

 Day 4  MACHU PICHUchakana1 300x300

You will have an early  transfer to the train station at Ollantaytambo, for a two hour ride down the Urubamba gorge as it changes from mountain vegetation to cloudy forest,  arriving at the station of Machu Picchu Pueblo.  A half hour bus ride will  take us to the  fortress for a guided visit Our guide  will walk through the different sectors of the hill-top citadel, with its astonishing views, telling us aspects of the life  there that will take us back in time.

We will  transfer you to the airport for our flight to Lima - or any other connecting destination
